This free Big Eyes Heart Valentine's Day hot pad or pot holder pattern is a quick, useful, and satisfying crochet project! Using the tapestry crochet technique with half double crochet stitches, even beginners can create this beautiful 7x8 inch design in no time. This pattern uses worsted weight yarn (designed with Caron One Pound) and works up quickly in rows from the bottom up. Save the free pattern below and add a touch of handmade charm to your kitchen or give it to your fave cook as a gift!
Note--My patterns will look a little different from the tapestry crochet patterns you may be used to. I use a brick grid instead of the standard square grid. If you look closely at your finished crochet, you will see that the stitches are offset, like a brick wall. By designing the tapestry crochet pattern with brick, the finished image turns out so much better, in my opinion.
